RAW - The Finish

In the very early hours of Friday morning June 17, the Team Suicide Prevention racers crossed the 2022 Race Across The West finish line In Durango, Colorado. After a grueling 930+ mile route with over 40,000 feet of climbing, the team finished together at 3:50am local time, 2days 14hours and 46mins after leaving the start line in Oceanside, California on Tuesday, June 14th. During our epic ride, we had at least one racer on the road day and night to achieve this result.

It is safe to say that amongst the racers, the agreement is that this was hard. The target finishing goal was 60 hours to beat the 68 hour time cut-off and we finished in 62.75 hours. We’ll take it!!! Our racer’s training focus and the race plan execution by our crew made this result possible.

Team Suicide Prevention has a broad range of plans underway focused on our beneficiary organizations who include Hope Is Oxygen, The Coffee Bunker, and Hope Is Alive. But honestly, many of us have a bit of recovery left to do. It was certainly worth it as we race to raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental health issues.
